Close to home

A town that never quite stops.

Grapevine is a busy place to live. Planes come and go from DFW, which sits partly inside the city limits. Historic Main Street draws a steady stream of visitors. SH 114 and SH 121 carry people through town all day long.

Plenty of us run the same way. We keep moving, keep showing up, and tell ourselves the hard thing is behind us. Then a smell, a sound, or a stretch of road brings it right back, as if it happened yesterday.

That isn't weakness, and it isn't a failure to move on. Sometimes the brain simply didn't finish filing something away. EMDR gives it a structured way to finish.

My office is in Southlake Town Square, a short drive west on SH 114.

What EMDR looks like in practice.

  1. 01

    We start with steadiness

Before we touch anything painful, we build simple ways to calm your body and come back to the present. You'll use them in session and at home.

  2. 02

    We pick a starting point

Together we choose one memory, or one piece of one. You don't have to tell me every detail for this to work.

  3. 03

    We let the brain work

You hold the memory in mind while following side-to-side eye movements or another gentle rhythm. We pause often and notice what shifts.

  4. 04

    We check what changed

Next time we meet, we look at how that memory feels now. Often it's still there, just quieter and further away.

What people often notice along the way.

  1. A memory that used to grab them now just sits there.
  2. Fewer jolts from ordinary things: a siren, a certain song, a certain road.
  3. Sleep that comes a little easier.
  4. More room to be present with the people they love.

Everyone's pace is different, and nobody gets every one of these. We'll keep checking in, and you'll always know where we are.

Questions from Grapevine.

Where do Grapevine clients meet with you?

At my office in Southlake Town Square, 161 Summit Avenue, Suite 200. It's a short drive west of Grapevine on SH 114.

Can EMDR happen over video?

No. EMDR happens in person at my Southlake Town Square office, a short drive from Grapevine. I need to see how your whole body responds during a session.

I live near the lake and work odd hours. Will that work?

My hours are Monday to Thursday, 11 to 6. Ask about times during your consultation.

Is EMDR only for big, dramatic trauma?

Not at all. Some of the memories people bring are small on paper: a harsh word from a teacher, a scary night, a season when nobody noticed you were struggling. If it still stings when you think about it, it's worth our time.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can reach out directly. We'll start with a free 15-minute call to see if EMDR and I are a good fit for you.

Do you take insurance?

I'm out-of-network. I can give you a superbill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
